Meditation

I don’t know if you meditate or not, but for me it is a great way to release stress and bring about a positive way of living. I sit every morning for one hour, preferably early, before other people are up and about. I begin my meditation by thinking about my health. feeling grateful for my body and then I go on to think about my mind and my spirit. I think of them as being healthy, full of life and joy. It’s a way of being conscious about what is going on in my life and making small changes, adjustments if you will so that I can be the best I can be and live an amazing life. Then I simply sit in the silence and when a thought pops into my head I just let it drift right on through. I don’t pay it any attention. I allow myself the moment to sit and just be.

So if you are holding on to anything today, something from the past maybe that is holding you back, you can do this small exercise. Sit for a moment and take a deep breath in and then release that breath. Imagine your past, whatever is holding you back, some event or situation that feels heavy to you. In your mind, make it into a ball. Imagine all the feelings and emotions being brought into this ball. And then simply throw it away. See it flying through the air and disappearing into the light.

Seeing your past and any hurt as a separate thing from yourself allows you to realize that the past really is the past. It is over, done with and gone! Thank you and goodnight!
