Be The Source

We’re doing our internet radio show  tomorrow and it’s called Be The Source. Which really means that we have the power to create whatever we want in life. And sometimes that seems just too simple….or too impossible. Yet, every day people are doing it. Creating amazing lives, taking wonderful challenges, turning big problems into opportunities. And in my life, it is always the really small things that come along that make all the difference. Like being ill. A couple of days ago I got this coldsore on my lip, which turned into this monstrous looking thing accompanied by a very red swollen face which eventually had me at the 24 hour emergency treatment center near our home.

It was amazing. Here I was in the middle of the night with a nurse, and a doctor sitting there as if they had just been waiting for me! I walked in, did the paper work, got a massive injection of antibiotic in my backside and an hour later walked out of there feeling much better with a handful of prescriptions whcih I took to the all-night pharmecy where this pharmecist was waiting to fill our my prescription–and I didn’t even have to get out of the car–it was a drive through! How great is that?

The next morning, Jeff who had been suffering from this really bad flu went to the doctor and had a similar experience. Amazing service, smiling staff, wonderful people giving out health. So being the source doesn’t always mean that nasty things don’t happen…it just means that when things go wrong, we create an attitude that will find the best solution at the time. What I notice is that when I am willing to seek out the best in myself and others, the source lets me flow in the direction of well being. And what better gift in life is there, than to feel the wealth of well being given by other human beings. The world is full of amazing human beings–all we have to do is tap into the energy–or as we call it, “the source”.

Rock N Roll,

Val

Thanksgiviing

To me, thanksgiving is about giving thanks for the small things of life. Being wrapped up against the cold and going for a walk along the lakefront. Seeing a father playing with his child in the park. Playing with my grandchildren. I want to give thanks for the small things in life. The stranger who smiles for no reason, and you smile back. A deep sense of wellbeing and happiness that floods over me for no reason. The chance to touch other people’s lives in the smallest way. Buying a Streetwise paper from a vendor and being told “have a great day!”

Thanksgiving is about doing the small things in life on a daily basis that touch, inspire, and enlighten other people.

Have an amazing life. Rock N Roll Jeff

The simple things of life are still the best

Isnt it amazing that no matter what we are doing, life keeps on lifing. Chicago is beginning to turn cold, leaves are falling, things are changing. And we get the opportunity to see that we have to keep changing and springing into life again so tht we can be the best.

And I see that the simple things in life are the most important. Taking a walk, talking with your children, raking leaves, just to be happy at how amazing life is…to put all your troubles and woes aside. I got the chance today to really appreciate the small but important things of life.  Remember you get to be great every minute of every day.

Back in the States

Back home and back at work. One thing about work is that it brings back a kind of normal feeling. When things are not going as well as they could be, like when someone close to you becomes ill, then work is a steadying force. At least that’s what I have found.

It feels good to have normal things to do, emails to check, phone calls to return and meetings to attend. Because after spending days at a hospital in the North East of England, and seeing all the very sick people and the amazing nursing staff that care for them–I realize that to be alive and healthy is one of the greatest gifts that can be given.

So this is to send lots of love and blessings to all those people who are suffering from ill health at this time, and to send healing and love to those who are caring for them.

Jeff & Val
