Wichita Falls
Just got back from Wichita Falls where Jeff was teaching Super Service. I was in the audience and helping sell books at the back of the room. It was great to see him in action. He is so passionate about what he does and I got to be reminded that everything in life is a choice. I had the choice to see the program through new eyes and learn something amazing or fall victim to the IKTA disease “I Know That Already”.
After it was over, Teresa who was putting the training together took us to the airport and dropped us off. A couple of minutes later she came running in, “The planes get grounded here sometimes because of the wind. I’ll drive you to Dallas if that happens. Here’s my cell! Call me if you need me!” What amazing service!
Fortunately for her (it would have been a two hour drive there and two hours back) the plane did take off from Wichita Falls and we got to Dallas on time. Problem was, the weather in O’Hare was so bad they had closed two of the five runways. So we sat on the jet for a couple of hours at Dallas and got in to O’Hare at 12:30 pm. Next problem: the taxi line was so long and there were no cabs coming that everyone looked really cold and miserable. So we decided to take the EL-train to a station about one mile from our home.
We got off the EL and were now standing in the middle of a dark Chicago street, freezing cold and waiting for a cab at 1:00 in the morning.Then suddenly, one came. We hailed it. It turned around and picked us up. It was like winning the lotto. Nothing could have been better in that moment than for a Yellow cab to arrive. It was like Super Service to the hilt. And that’s life. Stuff happens. Flights get delayed. People are great and it’s all my choice. Do I want to be happy and live a great life, or do I want to make it all a bad and horrible experience.
