Good Samaritans
I was stuck in traffic in Chicago near a supermarket and I saw in the distance an older gentleman carrying two heavy bags of what I assumed must be groceries. And for some reason he caught my attention as I had nothing else to do stuck in traffic. And then I saw him stop and put the bags down and stand there looking as though he was quite winded, and then he picked the bags up and started to walk again.
Suddenly a car, several car lengths ahead of me did a u-turn, stopped and two young students jumped out of the car, walked up to the man, obviously said something to him, picked up the two bags, put them in the back seat, and then placed him carefully in the back seat. And even from that distance I could see the concern that they had for this man, that they would actually turn around in the traffic, pick him up and take him to his home.
Aren’t human beings amazing. We can touch the hearts of everyone we meet with compassion and understanding.
Have a Rock N Roll Day! Jeff
