It’s Our Choice
Yesterday I was doing Super Service with a group of people that has to handle calls from customers asking for different things and obviously having to handle angry ones. And I started off by asking the group what they wanted to get out of the day. One woman said,
“I have to handle difficult customers on a regular basis and I don’t mind doing that because I really enjoy my job. What I want to be able to handle is the customers that are so demeaning and make me feel so bad.”
That’s a typical response that I get from lots of people that have to interface with the customer directly. So we went through the Super Service training and it was amazing. At the end of the day the woman came up to me and said,
“Thank you so much because I realize that no one can demean me or make me feel bad. I get to choose the way that I want to feel and be.”
And it was so great to find somebody who got that wonderful spark back into her life as she realized that she can handle any situation and not take it personally and not be at the mercy of people and events.
Have a great day - Jeff
